How it works
Start where you are.
You're worth the whole distance.
Software usually makes you change how you work to fit it. I look for tools that fit the way you already work, then we connect what you have to where you want to go. AI is one option, never a requirement.
The Fingerprint Session
Most people can't say where they stand with technology, or where they want to go. Your technology fingerprint is how you learn, the tools you reach for, who your work is for, what you're aiming at, and what you want to keep in your own hands.
Before we meet, you fill out a questionnaire. Filling it in is the first piece of the work. In the session we map where you are now, where you want to be in two to five years, and what to change in the next year to get there. Nothing gets priced or judged here. You keep all of it, in writing. You'll see your own work more clearly than you have in a while.
The Tech Stack Review
Fingerprint Session included
Your software changes even when you don't look. The tools you set up two years ago can do more than you ask of them.
You show me your tools on a screen share, or I sit in on a normal stretch of your work. I look for what you pay for and don't use, jobs you still do by hand that your tools could already do, two tools doing the same job, and jobs no tool is doing. You get it in writing, with where to save money and what to do next.
The Diagnostic
Tech Stack Review and Fingerprint Session included
The Review looks at what you have. The Diagnostic looks at what you could have. I follow your work from start to finish, where it comes in, where it gets typed twice, where things get lost, and where a person has to decide.
Then I research better options and design a new setup. Sometimes that's the tools you already pay for, set up better. Sometimes it's a move to something new. You get a written plan for making the change, including how to bring your team along.
It takes at least two weeks, so I can watch a real cycle of your work. I quote it at the end of your Review and bill in 10-minute increments against the quote.
Coaching
Follow-up support, from any step
You make the changes, in your own accounts, and I coach you through them. That way the know-how stays with you.
Send a question by email, text or voice note. I'll answer the same way, or record a short video that walks you through it. When we need to talk live, by phone or Zoom, we book it ahead in 30-minute blocks, at the same rate.
If something breaks, send me a voice message about it. I find the fix and hand you the steps. I don't call vendors or tech support for you.
On retainer, coaching is $125 an hour, prepaid in blocks of four hours for $500. Without a block, or once it runs out, it's $150 an hour. I bill in 10-minute increments. What you don't use rolls over or comes back to you.
Beyond the tools
Tools only work if your people move with them.
- Business process design. How the work should flow, written down and put into practice.
- Technology integration advice. Which tools to keep, which to drop, and how they connect.
- Change management. So your team uses the tools you pick.
- Organizational development. For firms that have outgrown how they started.
- Agile delivery and business analysis. Scrum, and turning what a business needs into what engineers build.
